About the Event
Diversity programs arrived on the corporate scene in the 1980s as a mechanism for protecting organizations against law suits and as a mechanism for settling civil rights suits. The intent of these programs were to protect the organization, not protect individual civil rights. Fast-forward 40 years, and many organizations assume that diversity and inclusion education and corporate programs will boost productivity and innovation in an increasingly diverse work environment. Diversity and Inclusion programs have never been about racial equity and have logically failed to produce equitable results.
Racial equity in the workplace exists when there is equal opportunity and equal access to resources for people from all racial and ethnic backgrounds and when there is social equality for people of different races. To achieve this, organizations must go beyond diversity and inclusion programs and introduce antiracism in the workplace. Antiracist ideas, behaviors, actions, policies, and programs position all racial groups as equal.
Join this seminar to learn the core tenets of antiracism, its implications for the workplace, and what organizations can do to actively create genuine equity in the workplace. This webinar will include a 45-minute presentation and a Q&A session.
