Course Description
Most leadership skills training sells you either a communication technique or a personality profile. This course does neither. It teaches four human capacities that decades of research—and Dr. Robyn Short's own—identify as the foundation of leading well: emotional intelligence, social intelligence, cultural intelligence, and dignity intelligence. These are learnable capacities — the integration of experience, knowledge, and integrity in the context of collaboration — developed through practice, deepened through reflection, and visible only in relationship. If you have ever been told you are "good with people" without knowing what you were doing, or told you needed to work on your "soft skills" without being told how, this course is the missing specificity. You'll learn to notice your own emotional state before it shapes a decision; to understand people well enough that they experience being known in your presence; to recognize what you have been assuming is normal when it is only normal to you; and to honor the inherent worth of the people you work with in the ordinary moments where it is usually lost. You'll begin with a scored self-assessment across nineteen competencies, and you'll leave with a ninety-day development plan built from it. Seven modules, about six hours, at your own pace. Each includes a video with Dr. Short, a written lesson, a five-question quiz, a worksheet, and two written reflections that your engagement manager reads and responds to. Who this course is for Anyone whose work depends on other people — managers, individual contributors, project leads, HR and people teams, founders, and anyone stepping into leadership for the first time.
