Trauma-Informed Leadership Course Discussion: What concerns do you have about the impact that traumatic-stress can have in your organization? What resources do you or your organization have in place, or need to put in place, to mitigate the potential impact?

Organizational trauma is tough for me to pin down. I think we're try really hard and we could probably do better in areas. I think about race and culture as we are predominately white agency and predominately white women in our division.

A different part of my thinking surrounds our division, we work with child care providers and we support all licensed providers that enroll in our QRISystem. Recently our state has seen our Somali providers on the negative side of harassment, racism, discrimination from the fall out in Minneapolis. It's a difficult time for these providers and our coaches working with them. We have mental health consultants available to both coaches and providers and resources with advice for safety protocols. Our agency also has an Employee Assistance Program that is a wonderful support program.
